Webitech TRUSTED: A New Test Shows Whether Visitors Have a Reason to Trust Your Website

Website trustworthiness today is no longer just about modern design or attractive graphics. Within just a few seconds, visitors begin forming an opinion about who is behind a website, whether they can easily contact the company, whether important information is readily available, and whether the entire online presence feels consistent, transparent and secure.

That is why we have added a new free tool to Webitech: TRUSTED – Website Trust Test.

Its purpose is not to decide whether a company is “good” or “bad.” TRUSTED evaluates publicly available trust signals within a website and its online presence that may influence a potential customer’s decision.

Why Is Website Trust Important?

Bringing a visitor to your website is only the first part of success.

A company may have strong SEO, rank well in search engines or attract visitors through advertising. But if people cannot easily determine who is behind the website, how to contact the company or whether the business appears transparent and credible, they may leave very quickly.

Trust therefore creates an important connection between:

finding the website → visiting → trust → decision → conversion

Webitech can now evaluate this part of a company’s digital presence as a separate area.

What Does Webitech TRUSTED Check?

TRUSTED focuses on six core areas that together help create an overall picture of the trustworthiness of a website and its online presence.

1. Company Identity

One of the first questions a visitor may ask is:

Who is actually behind this website?

Webitech therefore looks for publicly available information that can help identify the website operator.

This may include:

company or business name,
company identification details,
address,
information about the website operator,
business identity,
structured company information.

A clearly presented identity helps not only visitors. Properly structured information can also make it easier for search engines and other systems to understand which organization or entity the website represents.

You can learn more about the areas Webitech evaluates on the What We Assess page.

2. Contact Availability

A trustworthy website should make it easy for visitors to understand how they can contact the company.

TRUSTED therefore checks the availability of different contact options, such as:

email address,
phone number,
physical address,
contact page,
contact form,
other publicly available contact information.

There can be a significant difference between a website that provides only an anonymous contact form and a website where visitors can easily identify who they are communicating with and what other contact options are available.

3. Website Security

Trust is also closely connected to technical security.

Webitech therefore uses available security signals as part of the assessment and may check, for example, secure connections, selected website security mechanisms and other technical indicators.

Security, however, is only one part of the overall trust assessment.

If you want to check specific areas of your website separately, you can find additional checks among the free Webitech tools.

4. Transparency

A professional website should make important information easy to find.

Depending on the type of website, Webitech may check the availability of information such as:

company information,
privacy policy,
terms and conditions,
complaints or returns information,
website operator details,
other important documents.

Naturally, the expectations for a simple corporate website are different from those for an online store.

TRUSTED therefore does not simply count links in the footer. Its goal is to create a broader picture of how transparent the website appears to its visitors.

5. References and Reputation Signals

Testimonials, case studies and public profiles can help visitors when deciding whether to trust a company.

TRUSTED may therefore look for signals such as:

customer testimonials,
case studies,
publicly presented customer experiences,
links to company and social media profiles,
other reputation-related signals.

Webitech does not claim that detected testimonials are true or independently verified.

We evaluate their presence, level of detail and the way they are presented on the website.

6. Brand Consistency

Today, a company usually exists in more than one place online.

In addition to its own website, it may have social media profiles, business directory listings and other publicly available profiles.

TRUSTED therefore also evaluates brand consistency.

Webitech may compare signals such as:

company name,
brand name,
domain,
public profiles,
information displayed directly on the website,
available structured data.

Significantly different or unclear information may make it harder for visitors to determine whether different profiles actually belong to the same company.

A consistent digital footprint is also increasingly important for helping search engines and AI systems correctly connect information with a specific brand or organization.

The Result Is a TRUSTED Score from 1 to 10

Webitech converts the results of individual checks into an easy-to-understand:

TRUSTED Score from 1 to 10

This means users do not have to study dozens of isolated technical parameters to understand whether their website contains the basic signals that can help build visitor trust.

The result also includes a Trust Completeness indicator showing how many of the monitored publicly available trust signals were detected.

For example:

TRUSTED Score: 8.4 / 10

Trust Completeness: 83%

Webitech then shows which areas are strong and where there is room for improvement.

We Do Not Decide Whether a Company Is “Honest”

We consider this distinction extremely important.

An automated website test cannot reliably determine whether a company always fulfils its obligations, whether every published testimonial is genuine or whether every customer will be satisfied.

TRUSTED therefore does not assess the moral or commercial reliability of a company.

It evaluates:

publicly available signals that may give visitors more or less reason to trust the website and the organization behind it.

The result should therefore be used as a basis for improving a company’s online presence, not as a certification of its commercial reliability.

TRUSTED Is Now Also Part of the Main Webitech Audit

We did not add the new tool only to our collection of free individual tests.

TRUSTED has also become a new area within the complete Webitech Audit.

The overall website assessment can therefore provide better answers to several important questions:

Can people and search engines find you?

Can they understand who you are?

Do visitors have a reason to trust you?

Does your website work properly across different devices?

Is your online presence secure, understandable and technically prepared?

You can also explore public audit results on the Webitech Results page.

Trust Will Become Increasingly Important Online

The internet contains an ever-growing amount of content, similar services and automatically generated information.

As a result, one simple question may become increasingly important to customers:

Who is actually behind this offer, and why should I trust them?

A company may rank first in search results or pay for advertising.

But if its website fails to create a sense of transparency and trust once a visitor arrives, traffic alone may not deliver the expected results.

That is why we see website trustworthiness as an increasingly important part of a company’s modern digital footprint.
